Stay-at-home motherhood is filled with its fair share of highs and lows. It’s helpful to have the support of your spouse, family and friends, but I found the the best person to invite into the journey is Christ. The first several years of motherhood I walked alone without Christ. I can, with all certainty, say that the journey with Him has been exceedingly better, especially on the hard days.
So if you find yourself in the midst of a challenging day, remember these things:
You are loved, you are important, and you are valued.

Psalm 139:1-4 says, “You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely.
To me, this scripture communicates love, importance and value more than if the words were directly stated. Really take in all of that scripture. God knows you. And not on a superficial level, but a very deep, intimate and personal level. He knows what you’re thinking and He knows what you are going to say before you even say it. He’s always aware of what is happening in your life, and He knows what makes you do the things you do. In fact, He knows more about you than you even know about yourself.
To be known on such a deep and personal level expresses love, right? Think about the people in your own life. The people you love deeply are probably the people you know most intimately. That God would take an interest to know such things about you shows that you are important, valuable, and deeply loved by Him.
So remember this…
On those days, when you feel unheard, unseen, unvaluable, and unappreciated, remember that Christ sees you, hears you, and values all the sacrifice and effort you are putting in to raising your family. He loves you beyond comprehension, and is with you always. Lean into Him, His love, and His strength, and know your hard work is not being wasted.
