Looking for positive affirmations to speak for your health and well-being? Try these 7 scriptures to build your faith.

When I first started daily affirmations for my health and well-being, before I understood my identity in Christ, I found it very hard to believe what I was saying. My circumstances were drastically different than what I was affirming, and it felt like a lie. I also couldn’t see how I, by myself, could bring about the change I was proclaiming. For me, I needed the assurance that there was something bigger and stronger within me that was at work to bring about the changes I desired.
So I turned to the Word of God.
Perhaps you’re in the same boat. You’ve set out on a new health journey time and time again only to be disappointed with failure. Maybe you’ve given up all together on your health goals. My prayer is that hope rises within you as you read this list and discover that God has created you to be victorious in your health journey.
Beloved, I pray that you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers. 3 John 1:2
I love this scripture because it makes it abundantly clear that God’s wish for us is to be in good health. The extra weight, stress, anxiety, illness, poor self-image you may be carrying is not his will for your life. He wants us in good health so we can run our race well and to the finish. He has big plans for each and every one of us, and we need our health to accomplish it! So as you set out to transform your health and well-being, know with confidence that it is God’s will for you to be healthy, and he delights in seeing you take action towards regaining your health.
I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me. Phillipians 4:13
Let’s face it, starting new and healthy habits is hard! Exercise, dietary changes, habits that stimulate and encourage a healthy mental state can be difficult to start and even more difficult to maintain. Take heart in this scripture knowing he has given you the grace, power and strength to make the changes you desire. On the days you feel like you just can’t do it, speak this out. Remind him, “Lord, your Word says I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Give me the strength right now to ________________.”
Everything I put my hand to prospers. Deuteronomy 28:8
I love this. His blessing is upon all the efforts you are making for good health. The workouts, the meals, the water, the prayer and meditation, the rest…he is blessing it all to benefit your soul and body for good, whether you see it or not.
I am the head and not the tail, the top and never the bottom. Deuteronomy 28:13
This is just a good pump you up scripture. It communicates the idea that you were made to win. You were made to rise up and succeed.
Jesus Looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26
Do you ever feel like regaining your health is impossible? That no matter what efforts you make, it’s always failure? If you’ve always been going it alone and coming up short, then yes, it can be impossible. But you’ve chosen to walk this health journey out with Christ. The good health you desire is possible! Trust me, there will be days when it seems like nothing is happening or changing. Fear not. It is not too hard with God. The same power that resurrected Jesus from the dead is within you as a believer, and it is that power that will bring about transformation.
For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. 1 John 5:4
I love this! EVERYONE born of God. Not some, the super spiritual, or the ones he chooses on this day or that day. EVERYONE! But it will require your continued faith to see it through. Stay rooted in his word and promises and I trust you will see victory.
But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:57
As a believer in Christ, He’s already given you the victory. It’s yours, but you do have to do your part and take it. It reminds me of when God delivered the Israelites from the Egyptians and promised to bring them to a land flowing with milk and honey. (Exodus 3:8) God promised them this beautiful land, but they had to drive out the inhabitants there. (Numbers 33:50-53) There was battle. In the same way, He’s promised you victory in reaching good health, but you will have to battle to drive out all the unhealthy habits and wrong thinking. You will have to put in the work to reach that victory. But don’t fear because He will be with you every step of the way to help you.
